David V. Herlihy


David V. Herlihy (USA) is a bicycle historian and a longtime annual contributor to this magazine. He is the author of Bicycle: The History (2004) and The Lost Cyclist (2010) and is responsible for the naming of the Pierre Lallement bicycle path in Boston, and for a plaque by the New Haven Green commemorating America’s first recorded bicycle ride by Lallement in April 1866. He has curated two major exhibitions, The Bicycle Takes Off (Lockwood‑Mathews Museum of Norwalk, CT) and Round Trip (UCLA’s Fowler Art Museum.) Email: [email protected]
