The 33rd ICHC Conference will take place 17 May through 22 May 2024, in Torhaus, Stadt Wehlen, Germany. This Conference is being organized to provide a venue for delivering presentations on any aspect of the history of cycles (bicycles, tricycles, and related vehicles) and related subjects. All persons delivering papers will be allotted 30 minutes: in keeping with the purpose of the conference, it is recommended that presenters use about 20 minutes of their time for their presentation and leave 10 minutes for a question-and-answer period with the audience. All presentations accepted for delivery at the Conference should be prepared for delivery using Microsoft’s PowerPoint program with embedded illustrations to enhance the material. Presentations (.pptx files) should be brought to the Conference on Flash Drive Memory Sticks, to be projected on a screen viewable by the audience. All equipment needed for MS PowerPoint presentations will be provided by the Conference Organizers.
It is expected that presenters will prepare formal versions of their presentations as papers in MS Word (.docx) format for publication in Cycle History 33, the Proceedings of the 33rd International Cycling History Conference. Papers will be due to the ICHC Program Committee within 60 days of the end of the Conference (i.e., 23 July 2024).
Persons interested in making presentations at this Conference must submit an abstract of their presentation in digital form [i.e., by email or on a flash drive] as soon as possible, but no later than 19 April, for review by the ICHC Program Committee to:
Phillip P. Sanderson,
33rd ICHC Program Committee
5130 Wisteria Dr., Oceanside, CA 92056, U.S.A.
Email: [email protected]
Abstracts of papers will be reviewed by the Program Committee for suitability for presentation at the Conference. The authors of papers accepted for presentation at the Conference will be notified of their paper’s acceptance within 10 days of submitting the abstract to the ICHC Program Committee, or by 29 April at the latest.
Authors will prepare a formal version of their presentation as an MS Word (.docx) file and will submit that document with supporting files to the ICHC Program Committee at the address shown above by 23 July, for publication in Cycle History 33, Proceedings of the 33rd ICHC. In addition to the base file with the textual material, all images used to illustrate the paper should be submitted as separate files with pixel density of at least 300 Dots Per Inch (DPI).(Images with a density of less that 300 DPI will not reproduce well in print.) Also, a Word document containing the captions for the illustrations to be used in the paper should be included. Using styles and elaborate typography is discouraged, it makes the graphic designer’s work more difficult.
Note 1: All papers submitted must conform to Guidelines for Preparation of Papers for Publication in the ICHC Conference Proceedings.
