Florian Freund (Germany) A freelance photographer since 2005, Florian grew up in Munich, Germany, where he still lives. When he bought his frst historic bike, he had no intention of starting a collection. He bought the machine afer he was promised it would be durable and solid. Afer an accident, he bought his next from a feamarket dealer, who made it out to be much older than it was. Afer some years, he met a bicycle collector who told him the truth of the matter. Following this disappointment, he was seized by ambition and started collecting bicycles, but also information and history so as not to be cheated again. In 2014, Florian combined his passion for bicycle history with his profession as a photographer and published a book, Velo Evolution - Fahrradgeschichte: Entwicklung, Design, Hintergründe. Since then, Florian has written several articles for the Knochenschüttler, the magazine of the German bicycle collectors’ association and has begun work on a new book. Email:
