Jost Pietsch

Jost Pietsch (Germany) was a mechanic in a machinery factory and then studied mechanical engineering. His special interest is the art of mechanics from the classical antiquity till HPV. He made short reports for TV about technical developments of human interest and wrote bicycle related articles for newspapers and bicycle magazines, e.g. The Boneshaker. His experimental contribution to bicycle design is a bicycle with the front wheel replaced by a wooden leg standing on a skate, an arrangement that really was rideable on ice.
